Pabel Alonso

Graduated in December 2024 with my degree in Finance & Real Estate with an International Bank Management certification. Right now, I'm working at HEICO, a leading independent provider of aircraft component maintenance, repair, and overhaul, as a Receiving Clerk. I've been there for about a year now, and although it's not in the field that I studied, I'm learning more about the nature of the workforce and what it means to work as a team while focusing on my next steps.

Before that, my work experience mainly involved an internship at a campaign office, where I spoke one-on-one with voters, and a temporary job at a COVID call center, where I spoke with many frantic people.

During my time in BAP, I was unfortunately one of the few who was not able to find a job through the connections that BAP provided. Although I didn't find a company to work for, I still worked to gain something through my many years as a BAP member, and that's my experience with recruiters, developing my conversation skills, and building a strong network that continues to help me as an alumnus. It's something I couldn't have fostered if I had given up after two semesters.

I also volunteer with a nonprofit called Bandhwari, a group that is near and dear to my heart and that I joined while I was at FIU. Through that experience, I've learned more about India, its textile industry, and international business. If you're ever interested in learning more about those topics, the organization's work, or even traveling to India, I'd be happy to share information about the group and my experiences with it.

Although I know I'm not as helpful in the accounting field as some people I know, I will always be willing to talk, help out, or just give general advice about life.
