Philip M. Iacovelli
Audit Associate
Baker Tilly
Hi everyone, I hope all is well! My name is Philip, and I began my FIU journey in Fall 2022 as a transfer student from Montclair State University in New Jersey. After joining Beta and being a member for two semesters, I went on to serve on the E-Board as the VP of Service and Reporting during the Fall 2023 semester. In this position, I had the opportunity to work with some amazing nonprofit organizations across Miami-Dade County, and discover my passion for helping others. During my time in Beta, I interned four times across three different firms, and was able to experience what it was like to work at both a Big-4 firm and a mid-sized firm. After obtaining my Bachelors of Accounting in December 2025, I committed to Berkowitz Pollack Brant (now Baker Tilly), where I officially began my career in the firm's audit practice at their Miami office. Since then, I have served multiple domestic and multinational clients across various industries such as real estate, medical equipment, agricultural commodities, ferrous metals, and more. After starting my career, I began studying for the CPA exam. I have since passed FAR, and am currently studying to pass the remaining exams. To further diversify myself as a professional, I returned to FIU in August 2025 to obtain my Masters of Accountancy, specifically in taxation. Alongside this, I try to remain involved in the FIU community by attending networking events, career fairs, Beta meetings, and mentoring/coaching students who show interest. My career goal is to become an experienced business advisor that my clients can trust, and who empowers others. If you have any questions on my experiences and/or the industry, feel free to reach out on LinkedIn. I would be more than happy to schedule some time to chat! Thank you!
